106 pound anvil

106 pound anvil

Here's a lovely 106 pound anvil. Forged in England, likely in the first quarter of the 20th century.

The edges of this anvil are darn near perfect. The face is clean and flat, only very minor pitting. The horn is in original condition, as forged. The rebound is good and lively.

This anvil is pretty darn stout for being just over 100 pounds. It has a nice thick heel for great support under the hardie hole. It also has a stout waist, giving more mass under the “sweet spot”. This anvil would be great for someone just starting out, and seasoned blacksmiths alike. Due to it’s weight, it would be a good travel anvil for demonstrations, and excellent for knife makers due to it’s condition.

I have not found a name, but based on the overall shape/style I would guess it to be a Nash.

Dimensions are as follows:
overall length: 19 5/8”
face width: 3 7/8”
height: 8 3/4”

Shipping within the continental USA is included in the price of this anvil. Local pickup is always welcome as well.
